Hotel and Bristol Eye planned for harbourside
A new luxury hotel and ‘Bristol Eye’ big wheel could be built on Bristol’s harbourside under new proposals.Manor Property Group aims to create a major tourist attraction on an area of land running alongside Bordeaux Quay.Its £24m scheme could include a 125-bedroom luxury hotel overlooking St Augustine’s Reach, a floating restaurant and a covered area for market stalls and events. About 70 jobs could be created.The site is owned by Bristol City Council and has been earmarked for leisure use with the development of a ‘statement building’.CODA Architects Bristol is working on designs and discussions have started with Hotel Indigo, an Intercontinental Group Hotel brand, to potentially launch a new hotel with management by Interstate.
